Healthcare Executives to Share Human Resources Wisdom at Upcoming Fifth Annual Kenexa World Conference

WAYNE, PA–(Marketwire – July 29, 2010) –  Kenexa (NASDAQ: KNXA), a global provider of business solutions for human resources, today announced that a trio of executives from global and regional healthcare-related companies will share their unique perspectives on talent acquisition and employee engagement during the upcoming 2010 Kenexa World Conference. Gina Nardone, Manager of Talent Acquisition for Baxter Healthcare; Kristy Rigot, System Director of Human Resources for Lee Memorial Health System; and Cathy Fraser, Senior Vice President of Human Resources for Tenet Healthcare Corporation will add their voices to the conference, sharing best practices that are changing the face of HR.

In a session titled “The Effective Great Unknown: Global Expansion in a Decentralized Talent Acquisition Organization,” Nardone will focus on Baxter’s global implementation of Kenexa Recruiter® BrassRing, highlighting the company’s specific challenges, including the initial absence of a strong global talent acquisition presence across the organization. Nardone will explain how Baxter has achieved 85% implementation across the organization, with a goal of 100% by the end of 2011. Recommendations on conducting Delta Workshops, language implementation, dealing with HR turnover, working with limited budgets and post-implementation involvement also will be discussed.

Improving recruitment productivity is not about doing things faster and harder. It is about streamlining work process, standardizing, modifying behaviors, optimizing technology and staying focused on key recruitment workforce metrics. During her presentation of “Soar with the Eagles: Improving Recruitment Productivity,” Rigot will provide an overview of Lee Memorial Health System’s focus on performance improvement strategies and goals based on continuous analysis of candidate pipeline, workflow and performance metrics.

In a presentation titled “Achieving Impact by ‘Under-thinking’ Traditional HR,” Fraser will share how textbook HR does not always make sense, describing different thinking in the traditional towers of talent management, performance management, employee engagement, and anti-unionization, tuned at achieving impact. During this intriguing session, Fraser will highlight the importance of context and organizational readiness, with the backdrop of Tenet Healthcare’s business turnaround.

The fifth annual Kenexa World Conference promises to transform HR through outliers, helping organizations move beyond potential to drive business performance. To reveal true human potential to improve business results, companies must identify and nurture high performers and create the right environment for them to thrive. Attendees of the conference will come to understand how the right individuals in the right environment lead to ultimate success.

Happening Tuesday, September 21 through Thursday, September 23, 2010, in Philadelphia, Pa., the Kenexa World Conference will give companies the information they need to transform HR and move from potential to performance. How Does Facebook Rule the Online Social Media Space?

Social clubs have been the venues for people to nurture the social facet of their lives. Facebook brings the opportunity to build a social network from your home or office, especially when the modern lifestyle leaves no time for people to live their social life.

The Facebook revolution has been extended to the business and marketing segments on the internet. If you are familiar with the trendsetting term called social media marketing, you should identify Facebook as one of the pioneers of the trend.

The following discussion highlights the way in which Facebook is ruling the lives of people in every part of the globe.

Personalize Individual Cyber Space

Facebook provides individual cyber space to every person registering with the social network. So, Facebook users can have their own personalized space where they can place their pictures and videos, update their status and share a word about their everyday activities. Social interaction with others follows an innovative path with Facebook.

Build Own Network at Workplace

With Facebook, people working at the same workplace now have a new medium of getting connected with one another, even after the working hours. This has surprisingly helped the business organizations to find social recognition through the groups of their employees.

Blog Marketing

If you are a blogger, you can easily find your target audience with Facebook. Personal blogs as well as business blogs can draw followers from Facebook that has millions of members actively participating in the social interactions. According to the reports, the beginning of 2010 witnessed the number of Facebook users crossing the figure of 400 million. The number is now 500 million.

Creating Corporate Profiles

Facebook is not only for creating personal profiles, but corporate profiles as well. Business organizations create and maintain their product pages on Facebook, to have their business gain exposure among active audiences. Newly introduced products are updated to arrange for instant visibility.

News and Events Coverage

Website owners provide live coverage of various business events on their Facebook profile. Moreover, they can update the news concerning their business products on Facebook and expect them to be more visible than on online news sites. This is true as 50 percent of the users are reported to log on to Facebook on any given day.

Considering the discussion above, one can say that Facebook has become a mainstream medium for activities ranging from social interaction with friends to business marketing among audiences.

Become an expert

In this job market, you do need to stand out from the masses. This requires creativity and dedication. A well-written resume and cover letter are just the start. Consider positioning yourself as an expert in your field and develop a blog for others to read. Or, write articles, a research paper, or an E-book that you can distribute online or offer to a popular industry publication or journal. Volunteer your time to events and demonstrate your passion for what it is you do. Employers know that the most productive employers are those who take initiative and are excited about their work. By taking these extra steps, you’re positioning yourself as the talent that they’re looking for, not just another resume in a stack.

The reality is that it can take months to find a new job. With so many job seekers, recruiters and hiring managers have the upper hand and can hold out until they find an exact match for a position. Those who are getting hired are the individuals who are perceived to be those exact matches. They are the ones who are communicating their skills, passion to excel, ability to connect, and desire to bring value to an organization. The job search is no longer about waiting for the phone to ring. It’s 100 percent about becoming that exact match that an employer is prepared to hire.

Social networking with caution

With Facebook and Twitter becoming hugely popular, many are wondering if these applications are necessary for finding a job. The answer could be yes, but there are concerns to consider.

Obviously, the more contacts you make on these sites, the more opportunities you might find. However, they are primarily focused on making social connections. This means that old friends, relatives, acquaintances and others from your past and present will want to connect with you. This is a potential source of problems for job seekers. With employers conducting online research on candidates, keeping profile pages free of offensive, suggestive, or controversial comments and images is not only a good idea; it’s absolutely essential. There is no need to worry about a photo of the family, but shots of friends drinking at a party aren’t going to impress a hiring manager. If you’re going to use Facebook, make sure to use the privacy settings to limit who is viewing your page, and be careful about all comments that you make on Twitter or any blogs. If you don’t want employers to read them, it’s better not to post them.

Besides Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn, there are countless resources for online and offline career networking. Check out alumni associations, professional organizations, and local career networking groups.
